In the event that you notice small pits or fissures in the glass or seashells, there is no cause for alarm. This may occur at the time of polishing at the manufacturing facility, and is considered an inherent characteristic of the surface and not a manufacturing defect. .
Seashells may lose some gloss with time if they are exposed to acidic liquids/substances repeatedly. This is due to the natural physical characteristics of seashells (mainly composed of calcium carbonate) and is not considered a defect. .
It is due to the high pressure on the polishing heads, required to polish the extremely hard quartz particulate that is mixed with the glass particulate in your surface. It does not deteriorate over time, unless the surface is obviously abused. .
In order to revive the shine and smoothness of the shells, you shall occasionally apply a solid marble/granite neutral wax and buff it with a fine steel wool.

To keep your countertop in as new condition here are some cleaning and maintenance tips.
Stain Resistance Phoenix Quartz has been tested by the PQRDC, and due to its low moisture absorption, is resistant to stains caused by wine, fruit juices, liquid food coloring, tea and spices with strong colors.
Stains and Dried Spills-For dried spills, remove solids first. A wet cotton cloth is recommended for any stubborn stains. Avoid forceful scrubbing as this may result in a loss of shine. Rinse well with water.
Do not use bleach / Acidic ( Lemon, Vinegar ) on a Phoenix quartz surface.
Phoenix quartz is intended for interior applications
only. Phoenix quartz should not be used outdoors. The Phoenix quartz Limited Warranty does not cover exterior applications, where Phoenix quartz is exposed to weather conditions. Exposure to direct sunlight may result in a color change and it is therefore recommended that exposure to direct sunlight is limited.
Heat Resistance -Placing hot items directly onto your Phoenix quartz Countertop is not recommended. Although Phoenix quartz has high heat resistance, excessive localized heat may result in damage to your Phoenix quartz due to thermal shock.
Cleaning your Phoenix Quartzfollowing installation -Your Phoenix quartz countertop material is covered by a plastic film to protect the surface during transportation. This film may leave a residue on your countertop which can absorb liquids, making your countertop appear to
be stained. It is important to give your countertop a thorough clean with a non-abrasive cream cleanser mixed with warm soapy water. Gently wipe over the entire surface with your cleanser and then remove
with a non-scratch cloth. Remove all cleaning product and to finish wipe down with a clean, dry cloth to restore the original shine. Never excessively scrub your countertop as this can cause dulling of the surface.
Maintenance
· To keep your Phoenix quartz clean, simply wipe with a soft cloth and a pH neutral household liquid detergent.
· Avoid exposure to products with high pH levels such as oven cleaner. If Phoenix quartz comes into contact with such products, rinse immediately to neutralize the effect, and then follow usual cleaning procedure.
· Avoid exposure to paint strippers, paint removers, bleach and nail polish remover. Rinse immediately with clean water to neutralize the effect, and then follow usual cleaning procedure.
· Avoid exposure to high impact, especially on the edges.
· Avoid excessive weight being placed on the countertop, such as tradespeople standing on the countertop when carrying out other work in your home such as painting or electrical work.
· · There is no need to seal your phoenix countertop. Sealers cannot penetrate Phoenix quartzand remain on the surface. Eventually the sealer will start to wear off unevenly in high use areas causing the polish to appear inconsistent.
